I attended the Half yearly meeting of the SRIS in Perth on Saturday 6th April. at which the photo was taken.
The participants are from left to right:-
Manuel Mendes, VIII, SRIL; Silvio Santos, JSM, SRIL; Tony Llewellyn, S Magus ,SRIA; Ian Robertson , S Magus, SRIS; Craig McFarland, S Sub Magus, SRICF; Adam Lancashire, S Sub Magus SRIA
The meeting in the magnificent Lodge rooms of Lodge of Scoon and Perth, No.3, Atholl Crescent Perth are held on the first Saturday in April and comprise of a brief SRIS High Council meeting followed by the conferral of the V, VI, VII and VIII degrees on candidates. There were a large number of candidates for the degrees some of whom had travelled from Finland (members of Metropolitan SRIS College). Separate teams performed the ceremonies to a very high standard.
The Supreme Magus, Ian, utilises his laptop to Zoom in the Chief Adepts of the SRIS in Sydney and Hong Kong to be greeted and address the meeting.
A new ‘Zelator’ handbook has been prepared with extensive diagrams and explanations of the degree, supplemented by erudite papers.
Copies of the reprinted 1973 Centenary history of the SRIS were available and throw a little more light on all our origins.
The afternoon was completed with a sumptuous lunch at the nearby ‘Salutation Hotel’.
A wonderful day out and a credit to our sister Society the Societas Rosicruciana in Scotia.
